PARTY TIME.

Come.  Sit.  Stay.
I was able to convince the girls to have another joint birthday party this year.
The theme was puppies.  Although our schedule was HECTIC...I was still requested to make the cake (or should I say cupcake) with year.  SO...here they are...I was happy with them.

These were the girl's personal cupcakes with their candles.

And here was the "gang."  A good time was had by all!

Livy Loo's Birthday!

The day after we got back it was Livy Loo's 4th birthday!

She wanted a cake...

And she has been asking for roller skates for a long while...

Powell Family Vacation Part III

A few days in Portland, Oregon.

Eating a snow cone in the beautiful rose gardens.

Eating Ice Cream in Frontier Square in Portland.

Waiting for the trolley at Portland State University.

Powell Family Vacation Continued...

On our way across California we visited the Jelly Belly Factory!  Lots of fun and tasty too!

After a quick family visit with Aunty Mary...we went to play with Mt. Shasta to see snow!  This was the girls first time...too bad we did not have the "right" clothes to stay warm and couldn't stay that long.  We did throw snow balls, build a snowman, make snow angels and attempted to go sledding (on an abandoned boogie board)!

We continued our adventures through the Redwood Forest.
Kennedy was in LOVE with all the aspects of nature...Olivia not as much...

We had lots of coastal adventures...

We explored tide pools aplenty.

The weather was cold but we had LOTS of fun exploring!

Daddy sure did enjoy the Oregon Coast!

We even saw our more sea lions in Newport.

Powell Family Vacation

San Francisco
Pier 39...we even got to see Sea Lions!

Love these two!

The San Francisco bridge.

Daddy's little girl...relaxing on the lawn!

The Japanese Gardens.

With the girls.

Oldest Carousel.  Livy LOVES Carousels.

Kennedy and mommy along for the ride.

Muir Woods.  Kennedy loved the trees.

Livy was sleeping.

Kennedy got a kick out of the Banana slugs.

This was our first stop on our family adventure...we had LOTS of fun!!!

And Now She is 6!!!!!!

Go Kennedy, it's your Birthday!
Of course Livy wanted in on the action too...

Kennedy got her ears pierced for her birthday and got a pair to change into.

Book Character Dress Up Day!

Guess Who?!

Pipi was one of my favorite book characters of my childhood!  I read all her books to Kennedy and she fell in love with her spirit too!
So we modified one of Kennedy's dresses with red patches, painted on some freckles, sprayed in some red hairspray, put a little shirt on a stuffed monkey, made him a tie and named him Mr. Nelson (oh and velcroed him on her right shoulder).

Here Comes the Bride.

Olivia is obsessed with "beautiful dresses"...I think she thinks the only
dress that I have ever worn that qualifies as a "beautiful dress" is my wedding dress.
Fast forward...I told her I still had my wedding dress in the closet.
She insisted on seeing it and this is the result:
Love her!

BUNNY TIME!

Our interpretation of Easter...
First a little egg dying (note, in our house the kids don't touch the eggs, per K's allergies)

The Easter Basket loot left by the bunny...

Then some egg hunting up high...

and down low...

They seem happy with the loot!

Then it is time for the "fancy dresses."  I could not resist...Livy insisted!!

Livy was not feeling the photo shoot.

Then off to Oma and Dede's...

For another egg hunt, more baskets and YUMMY eats!

It is always fun to spend time with the cousins and family!

Kindergarten Performance

Kennedy up at the microphone singing "We Hope You Liked Our Show."

The entire Kindergarten 2011.

Mike was out of town, so Olivia and I went to the performance.  I parked in the "wrong" parking lot and was given a warning that I might be towed.  I did not leave to move my car...I was happy with my decision, I would have been sorry to miss one second of this show.  The kids ALL did such a good job...I was tearing up the whole time.  Kennedy's first grade experience was FANTASTIC and I was sad to see it end.
BTW...my car DID NOT get towed, but I since refuse to buy a pizza from the owner of the place that made the threat.
